You didn't think I took radical measures to improve my aerodynamic profile for the TOW TT did you? No, I meant "no junk miles". This is one of my favorite workouts because it's so perfectly efficient. I roll out of my driveway and head over to Beach Drive near the Mormon Temple. By the time I get across Connecticut Ave I've got 10-12 minutes in - a good enough warmup. Then I do intersection intervals - go hard from one intersection to the next, and then recover from that intersection to the next one. Beach Drive is broken up into about 6 of these segments, ranging from about a minute to 2 1/2 minutes to complete at interval pace. So I ride to the end (where the Goon starts), turn around, and do the same thing coming back. Repeat as necessary, and finish up with an 8-10 minute cooldown back to the house. This ride was just out and back once because I'm a wussy and am scared of being over-tired for TOW. Better to be fresh than fit right now.
Though fit isn't altogether elusive. I set a new 1-minute power record during this one.
